Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Private Seaside Cottage. Pool Access, Balcony, Outdoor Bar, Short Walk To Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your family.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
