Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Snowbird-friendly oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & fitness room - dogs OK has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
