Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book the perfectrental home:
- Start by having your family commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. “Sol Retreat” Swatch 3 bed\/2 bath Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
- Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
