Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. “Sol Retreat” 3 bed\/2 bath Condo in SeaWatch has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before booking the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is optimal for your family.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
