Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious 3 Bedroom Oceanview Condo at Sand Dunes Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
