Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Brigadune 9F Spectacular Views! Renovated, Perfect Location, Close to Everything has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation group.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
