How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Spacious Oceanfront 2 Bedroom Condo + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
