Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the perfect rental:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Splendid & Spacious 3 bdrm-15CRP-Full Access has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
