Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Sea Mark Tower Unit 905 - Ocean View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
