Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Beautiful Cottage w\/ Pool, Steps to Beach, Free WiFi and parking has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
