Strategies to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing and booking yourvacation home:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Whoa! Amazing view!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
