Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Whoa! Amazing view!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
