How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Carolina Grande™ - 3 Bedroom has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
