Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Planning and choosing yourrental:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Stunning1-Bedroom Suite! Beautifully Renovated with Views!-Grande Cayman 864 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
