Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 2\/2 Shipwatch Pointe 2! A block from the Ocean w\/ indoor & outdoor pool, hot tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
