How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 2\/2 Shipwatch Pointe 2! A block from the Ocean w\/ indoor & outdoor pool, hot tub has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
