Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Stylish Escape Oceanview Suite @ Meridian Plaza! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
