Booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
