How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To book the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Sunny Ocean View King Bed Accessible 5th Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
