Booking the best rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Sunny Seaside Retreat with Beach & Pool Access! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
