Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Sunny Seaside Retreat with Beach & Pool Access! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
