How to find the best vacation home experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best vacation home:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. SurfsUp HiTide! Steps From The Beach! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
