Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your Search:
- Begin by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. New Direct Oceanfront at Monterey Bay, Nice Decor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
