Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.

Selecting and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Start by having your family select a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 7th Heaven in Myrtle Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
