Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by having your group agree to dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sunsets and Sand dunes has 2 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
