Tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your rental home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and choose the perfectrental home:
- To start, have your family choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Tropical Club Wyndham Sea Watch Plantation, 2 Bedroom Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
