Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Tropical Oasis: 1st Floor Oceanfront Bliss has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
