Getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental home:
- Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Turtle's Nest - Sands Oceanfront Luxury Condo has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
Additional considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
