How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. SLEEP 16, Elevator, Close To The Beach, Pool, Game Room - Tuscan C has 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is suitable for your family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Have a great stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
