Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Twlight On The Links - 581 Blue River Court has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
