Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the largest vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best vacation home:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Two Bedroom, Ocean View, Luxury Condo, Myrtle Beach, SC (3312511) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
