Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Two Bedroom Villa in a 57 Acre Gated Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
