Tricks and tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Booking in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Sunny Shore Drive Retreat has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
