Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Planning and choosing the bestrental:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Sands Beach Club Unit 312 - Oceanfront has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
