Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Updated 12th-floor studio with ocean views, balcony, pool, hot tub, WiFi, & A\/C has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
