How to book the best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your group select a vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Vacation home in Ocean lakes at Myrtle beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is right for your group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
