Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

Know before you go:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
