Rental property booking tips:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. MODERN 3BR\/3 FULL BA Direct Ocean Views. Indoor\/Outdoor Pools. Walk to Beach. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
