Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to visit & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Villa 2 108-A has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
