How to book the best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose and book the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Start by having your family decide on date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Welcome to Myrtle Beach Resort a 33-Acre Beachfront Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. If not, email the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
