Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Find your best deal:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Welcome to Myrtle Beach Resort a 33-Acre Beachfront Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
