Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- To start, have your family choose dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Pools & Recently Renovated 16th Floor Views! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many problems.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
