Strategies for getting the perfect rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Pools & Recently Renovated 16th Floor Views! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
