Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Blissful OF Three Bedroom Condo 14th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
