Rental booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Charming Gateway in OF 3BR Condo 12th Floor has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
