Rental property booking tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Elevated Coastal Retreat Queen Suite 11th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
