Rental home booking tips:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. ~~~ Fabulous Beach Bungalow with Golf Cart ~ Visit the Sea Breeze! ~~~ has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
