Tips to get the best rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First, have your group decide on a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Studio,Indoor Pools,Hot Tubs,Brand New! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
