Strategies to get the best rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Honeymoon Suite, Direct Oceanfront Suite, Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
