Our top Rental property booking tips:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- To start, have your group commit to dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Honeymoon Suite, Direct Oceanfront Suite, Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
