Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the best rental:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Irresitable Oceanfront King Suite 8th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
