Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking yourrental home:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. OceanfrontSuite,Your Seascape Sanctuary@OceanPark! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

More considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
