How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose and book the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. 2 Bdr 2 Ba Charming Cast Away in Ocean Lakes! Golf cart incl, waterpark, Pools has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
