Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Southern Comfort- Ocean View Mini Suite 5th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
