Vacation rental tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose and book yourrental:
- First and foremost, have your group select date ranges and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Magnolia North 4868-103 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
