Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:

Get the best rental value:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing and booking a perfectrental home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful private end unit! Featuring 2b\/2b near swimming pool. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
