Strategies for getting the perfect rental home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your Search:

  • To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. UPDATED WITH CART DOGS 20 LBS OR LESS CONSIDERED SITE 5518 SANDLAPPER LN. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
