Tricks and tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. New! & Ready for Summer! New & Updated Lodge, 2 Balconies! Perfect for Families! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your trip.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
